Mandatory and elective activities (participation at seminars, conferences, panels, etc.), and criteria for their expression in ECTS credits.
The backbone of the structure of the curriculum consists of modules, which represent a whole of interconnected courses that belong to a particular area and provide a more thorough and specialised insight into specific knowledges. Each module consists of at least three courses, bringing a total of 9-12 ECTS credits, and is carried out in a total of at least 30 hours of various forms of teaching. Given the level of education and the requirements that are necessary to learn the highly specialised knowledge of the offered courses, all courses are equalised in credits and carry 3 (most elective courses) or 4 ECTS (highly specialised methodology courses, mainly compulsory). These are the courses that make up the core content of acquisition of generic and transferable skills of doctoral students.
Two modules are compulsory (21 ECTS credits, 105 hours), and out of remaining 8 offered modules the student must choose 2 (18-20 ECTS, 60-85 hours). When an individual module offers more than 3 courses, some courses may be compulsory and some elective, and if a module is compulsory, the student does not have to enrol to all courses provided by module, but rather only those that are prescribed by their specific doctoral curriculum. The student acquires 39 ECTS credits through teaching contents. It is possible to acquire up to additional 5% of teaching ECTS credits (9 in total) through teaching contents, by enrolling into certain courses from other modules in other doctoral studies at home or abroad, or from specialist studies of Psychology if the committee for monitoring students' work appraises that these contents are necessary for realisation of a specific individual program. The share of elective teaching content in the study is 50%.
There are two compulsory modules: Psychological Methodology and Psychometric Theory and Quantitative Methods. The remaining 8 modules cover the main areas of psychology such as psychology of personality, social psychology, neuroscience, cognitive psychology, developmental psychology, educational psychology, clinical and counselling psychology, work psychology and organisational psychology.
The total number of ECTS credits the students must gather to complete the study is 180. Of those, 21 credits are collected in compulsory modules, and 18-20 ECTS in elective modules. Students gather the rest of credits by writing the dissertation (45 ECTS), through compulsory credits earned on the basis of writing papers, passing exams in research methodology, writing drafts of research and defending the research (24 ECTS), through compulsory consulting education (a minimum of 9 ECTS through the study), and through compulsory research contents (a minimum of 14 ECTS). Students earn the remaining credits through different scientific, professional and teaching activities (between 43 and 51 ECTS).
Beside the credits earned through teaching and dissertation, students can collect ECTS credits on the basis of following activities:
