Structure of the study programme

The structure of the study programme is organized according to the following scheme: 3 years (Undergraduate programme) + 2 years (Graduate programme) + 3 years (doctoral programme) + 2 years (specialist programme).

 

To graduate from Undergraduate programme 180 ECTS credits are required, Graduate programme requires 120 ECTS credits, and to obtain the title of Ph.D 180 ECTS credits are required.

 

The duration of Undergraduate programme in psychology is 3 years during which the student must obtain 180 credits. Prerequisites for admission to the study are completed four-year high school, passed state graduation exam, and passed entrance exam. Completion of the Undergraduate programme in psychology entails the title of Bachelor (baccalaureus/baccalaurea) of psychology (abbreviation univ. Bacc. Psych.).

 

The duration of the Graduate programme in psychology is 2 years during which the student must acquire 120 ECTS credits. Prerequisites for admission to the study are completed Undergraduate programme and passed qualification exam. Completion of the Graduate programme entails the title of the Master of Psychology (abbreviation Mag. Psych.).

 

The duration of Doctoral programme is 3 years during which the student must obtain 180 ECTS credits. Prerequisites for admission to the study are completed Graduate programme, grade point average during Graduate programme of at least 4.0, and passed entrance exam. The Council makes decisions on recognition of partial completion of the study and approves enrolment accordingly for the candidates who obtained their academic degree "Master of Science", "Master Specialist", and students who have completed postgraduate or specialist postgraduate studies of psychology and passed all required courses with an average grade of 4.0 or more, but did not successfully defend their final thesis.

Masters of Science and Masters of other professions can enter the Doctoral study programme after a preparatory year which includes differential exams and other terms that are prescribed in accordance with the original profession of candidates. The candidate acquires the right to enrol Doctoral study programme if they passed their exams with an average grade of at least 4.0.

Candidates who complete the Doctoral study of psychology acquire the title of Doctor of Science (abbreviation Ph.D).

 

The Professional postgraduate programs at the Department of Psychology lasts 2 years during which the student must acquire 136 ECTS credits. Admission requirements are a university graduate degree in Psychology, a minimum of one year experience of direct work with clients and the ability to conduct independent work in the field of psychological profession under the regulations of the country where the candidate works (the Croatian candidates should meet the requirements stipulated by the Law on Psychological Profession). Upon completion of the Professional postgraduate programme of Clinical Psychology the candidates acquire the title of Specialist of Clinical Psychology (abbreviation univ. Spec. Clin.).

Ministry of Science, Education and Sports, on the basis of Article 51, paragraph 2 of the Law on Science and Higher Education (Official Gazette No. 123/03, 105/04, 174/04) issued:

- 02 June 2005. The license (Cl: UP/I-602-04/05-16/284, Reg.No.: 533-07-05-2) for the Faculty of Humanities in Zagreb, Ivana Lucica 3, to perform Undergraduate study programme of Psychology

- 02 June 2005. The license (Cl: UP/I - 602-04/05-16/294, Reg. No.: 533-07-05-2) for the Faculty of Humanities in Zagreb, Ivana Lucica 3, to perform Graduate study programme of Psychology (single-subject).

Program changes

The Council of the Department of Psychology proposed and approved the following changes to the program:

- Change of the program 06-07; changes apply from the academic year 2006/2007 on the basis of: the Decision of the Faculty Council of 28 June 2006, Class: 602-04 / 06-01 / 179, Reg.No.: 3804-850-06-5, 05 July 2006.

- Change of schedule for the mandatory course Introduction to Developmental Psychology (instead of 1P, 2S new schedule of 2P, 1R, 1V), valid from academic year 2006/2007 on the basis of: the Decision of the Faculty Council of 18 December 2006, Class: 602-04/06-01/261, Reg.No.: 3804-120-06-2, 19 December 2006.

- Change of the program 07-08; changes apply from the academic year 2007/2008 on the basis of: the Decision of the Faculty Council of 16 July 2007, Class: 602-04 / 07-01 / 127, Reg.No.: 3804-850-07-12, 31 August 2007.

- Changes to the program 08-09; changes apply from the academic year 2008/2009 on the basis of: the Decision of the Faculty Council from 02 and 17 July 2008, Class: 602-04/08-01/118, Reg.No.: 3804-850-08-90, 21 July 2008.

- Changes to the Program 09-10 to 13-14; the document states all changes of the program from the academic year 2009/2010 to academic year 2013/2014.

- Changes to the curriculum of 14-15; the document states all changes of the program from the academic year 2014/2015 as approved at the meeting of the Faculty Council, Faculty of Humanities, held on 27 June 2014 (Class: 602-01/14-01/135, Reg.No.: 3804-850-14-18 1 July 2014; Class: 602-04/14-01/102, Reg.No.: 3804-850-14-13, 2 July 2014).

Students who enrolled in the first year of Psychology in 2005/06 or later study under the new curriculum.


STUDENTS WHO ENROLLED BEFORE 2005/06


Students who enrolled in the first year of Psychology in 2004/05 or before, and are regularly studying, study under the old curriculum (pre-Bologna).
