Course description

Definition of health psychology. Biopsychosocial perspective on health and illness. Attitudes and beliefs about health. Psychological reactions to illness. Health psychology in pediatric, dermatology, cardiology, oncology, endocrinology and neurosurgery setting. Health psychology and prevention activities (lifestyles changes and reducing risk factors).

Course objectives

Students will acquire basic knowledge in health psychology. They will learn how health psychologist can assist patients. Students will be able to contribute to organization of health promotion programs.
