Ana Butković, Ph.D.

Assistant Professor

 

Born in 1977 in Zagreb where she finished elementary school and Classical gymnasium. She finished flute studies from Music academy in Zagreb in 1999. She graduated psychology from the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb in 2001. At the same university she finished her MA in 2005 and her PhD in 2009. Since 2012 she has been working as Assistant Professor at Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and at Centre for Croatian Studies.
Teaches mandatory and elective courses from the field of differential psychology. She introduced a new elective course Psychology of music. She organized XXth Psychology summer school on Personality and musical preferences.
She was a recipient of British Scholarship Trust scholarship and has spent 3 months at SGDP Centre of King's College in London. She has participated in a variety of workshops and training seminars and has presented her work at numerous domestic and international conferences. She has published a book chapter and about twenty scientific papers. 

Scientific interests: behavior genetics, personality psychology, intelligence, music psychology

She has given lectures about different psychology themes to music teachers in music schools, music teachers in elementary and secondary schools, art teachers in elementary and secondary schools, and pregnant women and their partners. She participated in projects for popularization of psychology (PsihoFest 2011, 2013, 2015).
