Achenbach System of Empirically Based Assessment (ASEBA)

ASEBA (Achenbach System of Empirically Based Assessment) covers relevant aspects of child psychopathology, and its validity, reliability and efficacy has been confirmed in over 7000 publications. More than 9000 authors have used ASEBA in their research in 80 countries. These instruments are dimensional and they gruop behavioral and emotional problems into syndroms that form two larger groups: internalized and externalized syndroms. ASEBA is one of the most widely used instruments for psychopathological simptoms evaluation. Therefore, the education of experts and professionals on the application of ASEBA is the first step in planning research projects that will provide a better understanding of mental health in children. During their workshop, prof. Achenbach and prof. Rescorla will present the development od ASEBA, as well as the practical implications of these instruments.
